Dhoom 3, the much anticipated movie, was finally released on Friday 20thmaking of the movie is said to have taken about 7-8 years and majority of it is filmed in Chicago, America. The run time of Dhoom 3 is 175 minutes and it comes with the promise of all the action, thrill and adrenaline rush associated with Dhoom series and the chance to see Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif together.
The story basically revolves around Sahir and Samar (Aamir Khan), who runs The Great Indian Circus that was started by their father. Sahir and Samar are identical twins and are shown to have a grudge against the Bank of Chicago and are determined to destroy it completely. Their father (Jackie Shroff) was debt ridden by the bank. And due to his failure to pay it back he commits suicide leaving his sons behind. The brothers blame the bank for their father’s death.
During the course of the movie, Sahir, the active brother, is seen robbing the bank occasionally. The actual robbery is never shown but his dramatic escapes are showcased. He is seen walking on the buildings of Chicago and riding his bike over a rope and flying it off the bridge. His bike has the ability to turn into anything he likes, which by the way was much exaggerated. Sahir makes his escape every time without concealing his identity and the Chicago police is in awe of the mysterious burglar who is quite daring. Frankly, the police could have advised the bank to alter their security system and questioned the people on the street or maybe have a look at the surveillance tapes to identify the thief. But since it was such a tough decision to make, so they bring in the thief catching experts from India, the angry Inspector Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and his cheesy side kick Ali (Uday Chopra).
Katrina Kaif plays the role of Aaliya, a highly professional acrobat and also Samar’s love interest. During the movie she is seen dancing quite gracefully on different songs but she does not have any significant role in the movie. Compared to the previous 2 movies, Amir Khan does not match the image of a super hot and sexy villain like John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan.
Overall the script of the movie did not offer anything new or unexpected to the audience. The story was dragged and there were some really cheeky dialogues included. The songs, locations and actions scenes were good but the movie couldn’t somehow reach the level of the previous two series of Dhoom. Well, the film has little to offer in terms of solid entertainment to the fans but it is just the charm of seeing super star Amir Khan that attracts the audience.
The movie is settling new records all over the world and is expected to be the highest grossing movie ever made in Bollywood. It has already crossed 100 cores and is expected to reach 300 cores in the coming days.
